Across answers run left to right; Down answers run from top to bottom. They share letters where they cross. A square may belong to one direction or both.

Tap a numbered clue or a white square, then type. Tap the active crossing square again, press Space, or use Across/Down to switch direction. Arrows move; Backspace clears. Enlarged grids can be panned, and Fit grid shows the whole width.

Untimed practice welcomes reflection and hints. In a timed challenge, the timer starts with your first letter or assistance action. Pause hides the puzzle; switching tabs or reloading pauses it too. Resume continues from the same elapsed time.

Score: Each answer starts at 100 points: a new clue hint costs 20, checking a changed answer costs 10, and any answer containing a revealed letter earns zero. Reopening a hint or rechecking unchanged letters is free. Points cannot go below zero; the completed score is scaled to 1,000. Timed results are ordered by points, then completion time, within this exact puzzle and clue set. Assistance has a separate list. Practice has no score or time pressure.

You can play as a guest. This guest puzzle creates no account or visitor profile. A future optional profile could save a chosen name, self-selected topic interests, progress and puzzle history, with separate choices for personalisation, public scores and newsletter emails. Email would stay optional for play and private.
